Micah 6:8 KJV says, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" First, God asks us to Act Justly. This means doing what is right and fair in every situation. Imagine being on a playground where everyone plays by the rules. It’s fun and fair for everyone. God wants us to treat others fairly, just like we want to be treated. When we see someone being mistreated, we should stand up for them and help make things right.
Next, God tells us to Love Mercy. Mercy is being kind and forgiving, even when someone doesn't deserve it. Think about a time when you made a mistake, and someone was kind to you instead of getting mad. That’s mercy. God wants us to show kindness and forgiveness to others. When a friend apologizes, we should forgive them and move on. Showing mercy makes our relationships stronger and our hearts happier. It’s like spreading sunshine on a cloudy day.
Lastly, God calls us to Walk Humbly with Him. Walking humbly means not thinking we are better than others and remembering that we need God’s help every day. Imagine holding hands with your parent while crossing a busy street. You trust them to keep you safe. Walking humbly with God is like that. We trust Him to guide us and help us make good choices. When we are humble, we listen to God and follow His ways, knowing that He knows what is best for us.
In Micah 6:8, God gives us a simple yet powerful guide for living: act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. These actions help us live in a way that pleases God and makes the world a better place. Let’s try to practice these every day and see how God works through us to bless others.
