“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22–23

Each morning brings with it a fresh reminder that you are still here by the mercy of God. Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, penned these words in the midst of national ruin and personal sorrow. Yet even surrounded by devastation, he found hope in this unchanging truth: “They are new every morning.” God’s mercy is not recycled, reused, or rationed—it is fresh, full, and faithful with every sunrise.

No matter what happened yesterday, God’s mercy meets you today right where you are. Your failures may have followed you through the night, but the Lord’s compassion is already waiting for you in the morning. The devil may accuse, your flesh may condemn, but God’s mercies silence both with the steady voice of grace. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus...” (Romans 8:1)

Too many believers carry the guilt of yesterday into the grace of today. But child of God, the cross settled your sin, and the empty tomb sealed your victory. Each day you wake up is not a punishment—it’s a privilege. It’s another opportunity to walk in the mercy of the Lord, to rejoice in His compassion, and to reflect His faithfulness.

Let this truth frame your morning thoughts: God has not given up on you. His mercies are new today. Step into them. Thank Him for them. And walk in the confidence that the One who brought you through yesterday is more than enough for today.
